Save Havering Connexions

Havering Council has cut the contract to Prospects Connexions by £444,000.

Prospects management has informed staff that these cuts, to be carried out this year, will mean the closure of the Romford Connexions Office and the loss of up to 11 PA and management posts or around one third of the entire staff.

These cuts have been described as "devastating" even by the Prospects management and are unbelievable at this point in a recession where youth unemployment is forecast to go through the roof.

The loss of 11 highly skilled and experienced personal advisors will not only be personaly damaging to the staff concerned but will impact damage on the community in Havering at a time when it will most need their support.

We call on Havering Council to think again about these savage cuts and to provide the neccessary resources to support young poeople in need in the borough.
